welshFrom Tacitus, the red robe
Known by Arthur came south,
From high Manau Goddoddin;
Votadini of Pritani,
Troops of Cunedda ap Edern.

Vortigen had ordered support,
way to rout Ui Liathain
From the land, Cunedda won;
Created Gwynedd,
Married Gwawl of Coel.

Gwyndd for many a year held;
Meirionydd, Ysfeilion, Rhufoniog,
Dunoding, Ceredigion, Afflogion,
Dogfeiling and Edeyrnion led.
Sons that made the country strong;
Britons still thrived in the west.

Vortigen asked mercenary help;
Hengest and Horsa, Germans came,
Once Roman East they made their own.
High Kings invitation soon was dead;
Angleland was born to spread.
