Moon shines

moonshineno moon shone

on the longest night

as drunken footsteps

crunched miles to go

under the cloudy sky;

the drizzle dirllling doon

filling the barrel a’ a’roon

till frozen pipes bunged it up

so glowing folk couldn’t take a cup

and reluctantly, as was their manner

to sup the barley for another hammer
