Run away

She was such an excited child

As I remember her, in absence,

Playing with the sledge;

A gift from me

A kind act that went so wrong

She sped down the slope

Onto the road and under the lorry

I said to her afterwards

Always make a right turn

Before the bottom

And then you will stop

She said, if I did

it was more likely

I would have gone

under the wheel

I said, look along the road

Before you cross
