In Two Minds

I didn’t see him coming

He was here with me before

I knew, and then, instantly

became my closest friend

We went everywhere as twins

through thick and thin, hill and glen

In my mind he is here now

When he is away I call

and he returns

We are one and yet not

We co-exist separately forever

But then, when the chips are down

he deserts me

His advice no longer there, alone I vault

hurdles to the next being

He comes back as if nothing

really happened

I say,

Glad to see you bud, you take care

I mean to scream,

Where were you when I needed you
