Awakening

Vivid flashes blind me as I sleep
Awakening my soul for it to weep
And see again the fearsome evil play
Now fading fast in the light of day.

Peering from my sheets on nightmare’s bed
The glass on the wall reflects instead
A man before today unknown to me
Who upon himself has turned the key.
