blue driving red

eat up your greens

is an old persons rant

just do as you’re told

you get what you deserve

you keep the status quo

the status quo!

live in austerity, but that’s not you

you’ve have cash to spare and vote blue, blue

don’t see the suffering in our land

don’t’ feel the cold in a frost bitten hand

from a world of promise

you want it medieval

on downtrodden people

you’re just evil, evil, evil

you want us down

and everyone must slave

cause your family’s not so old;

understand – you must be brave

and help the many

no point in eating up your greens;

as soon there won’t be any

when beetroot comes to be the need

borsch will be the word you’ll have to heed

resolution

  saw it there in the fading light;

   shadow in approaching night.

   wondered what it was about

too fearful then to cry out,

     move from my position,

      know the apparition,

       to follow the fear,

        till it became clear

         and against mind

          distortion find

           simple clues,

            normal views

             that may

              in day

               be

                me

New high

Came a long distance today

Peeled back the reality

Came to see the denial

Felt better with the clarity

Saw the broken wings

They stopped me flying

Drank the watered down cup

It took me back; I was crying

Without needle pain

It is a great relief

Now, I need to try

To stop the night-time thief

Taking you to the other world

Relying on your dependency

Pushing you to degradation

Not a wanted tendency

Came to see the denial

Felt better with the clarity

Came a long distance today

Peeled back the reality

Absence of life

John met many people.

Some days it was his daughter,

even when she was still on the phone.

Other days it was different folk

Some were soldiers and some were children

None of them said anything

not to him or those that didn’t see them

Their absence perpetuated that

and no-one was any the wiser

Only John knew the score

He became really upset

He phoned up for help

but no one could see what he was on about.

“You lot think I’m daft,” said John

“They’re in the bedroom, lying on the bed.

No one speaks. I can’t get them to go.”

“No bother. I told them to go. So they went,”

said his daughter

All was now fine

On the next night, as the dusk came

more folk arrived

Some were in the bedroom

Some were in the living room

John was again concerned

and none of them spoke

They were just there.

“They’re back here, again,” said John on the phone

“You’ll have to come and get rid of them

They’ll be after my money.”

“You don’t have any money,” said his daughter

who now understood the developing symptoms

In the home John met real people.
